This one-day newborn photography training is designed for photographers who are either stepping into newborn photography for the first time or who are already working with newborns and would like to refine their workflow, session structure, and business strategy.

WHAT IS A “PETITE NEWBORN SESSION”?  

A petite newborn session is a thoughtfully designed, one-hour newborn photography experience for clients that delivers a full, beautiful gallery through efficient workflow, simple setups, and intentional posing.

Learn how to design a newborn session that delivers 20+ beautiful gallery images in under one hour — without the overwhelm of 2–3 hour sessions — so you can serve more families in a day while keeping your sessions accessible and profitable. Create a business model that allows you to increase your income while protecting your time.

What You Will Learn & Practice

The Petite Newborn Session Model

You will learn how to structure and offer a petite newborn session that:

• Brings more families through your door

• Feels approachable for new parents (especially fathers who appreciate a shorter session time)

• Is priced lower than a traditional full newborn session while being thoughtfully designed to support strong overall sales

We will walk through the strategy behind this session model so you understand how to attract clients, communicate value, and create a service that works well for both your clients and your business.

Workflow & Studio Setup

You will learn how to prepare and move through your session with:

• Five preset newborn setups

• A clear, efficient workflow

• A system that can be adapted whether you work in a small home space or a larger studio

These are skills you can take home and continue practicing and refining in your own sessions.

Wrapping Techniques for Variety & Gallery Value

You will learn a variety of wrapping methods that allow you to:

• Create multiple looks from each setup

• Provide more image options within a short session

• Offer galleries that naturally support print and product sales

You will have hands-on time to practice these techniques during the workshop so you leave with experience you can continue building on.

Website Wording & Marketing Strategy

This section blends newborn photography education with photography business training and marketing concepts. You will learn:

• How to word your website in a way that clearly explains your petite newborn sessions

• How to position these sessions so families understand the value

• How to communicate in a way that encourages more newborn inquiries

These are practical tools you can take home and apply directly to your own website and marketing.

Live Newborn Portfolio Building Experience

This is a fully hands-on learning environment.

You will work with two newborn models and create 10 total setups throughout the day.

Morning Session:
I will demonstrate five complete setups on the first baby, explaining each step of the process — lighting, styling, wrapping, posing, and workflow.

Lunch & Business Discussion:
We will take a break for lunch and then continue with guided conversation around pricing, session structure, and business strategy. (LUNCH NOT INCLUDED IN WORKSHOP FEE.)

Afternoon Session:
The second baby will come in, and each student will:

• Design and build their own setup

• Practice wrapping and baby handling

• Photograph each other’s setups

By the end of the workshop, you will walk away with portfolio-ready images that you are licensed to use for your website, advertising, and marketing.
